Photo Software Page Updated

Picasa helps you instantly find, edit and share all the pictures on your PC. Every time you open Picasa, it automatically locates all your pictures (even ones you forgot you had) and sorts them into visual albums organized by date with folder names you will recognize. You can drag and drop to arrange your albums and make labels to create new groups. Picasa makes sure your pictures are always organized.

Picasa also makes advanced editing simple by putting one-click fixes and powerful effects at your fingertips. And Picasa makes it a snap to share your pictures – you can email, print photos home, make gift CDs, instantly share via Hello™, and even post pictures on your own blog.

You can download Picasa from the
Photo Software page.

New How To Take Panoramic Pictures Page Added

I've added a new page on how to take and make good panoramic photos. It requires the use of some free software, but it makes taking panoramas easier than ever. Some of my results are shown on the page.

New Qs & As Added to FAQs Page

Some readers have actually been asking questions which is great as I love to get feedback. The following questions with associated answer pages have been added to the FAQs page:

  • Have you any advice on shooting better silhouettes?
  • Will I be able to get the same standard of prints from digital images as I get from film on a home printer?
  • I do a lot of mountain biking. What kind of camera should I look for to get some decent photos?
  • What's the difference between a CompactFlash (CF) Card and a Microdrive? And with CF cards, do the stated speeds of 40x, 80x, etc. work with all cameras?

  • More please!

    Site Revamp Completed

Well, the site revamp has finally been completed (phew!). That took longer than I'd anticipated. If you come across a page that's still in the old page format, please let me know and I'll go and fix it.
